Otousan did not enjoy this movie. It wasn't the best but I thought I'd make a review about it anyway! xD I know that I haven't been blogging much, I had a tooth extraction that I've been recovering from. Demo, daijobou~ :] ☠Contains Spoilers☠

Alright, I will be writing a review for the film The Collection. I had no idea that it was a sequel to The Collector(I'm trying to recall if I've seen it not). So lets get started~

It starts off with a young girl, talking to her father in a car before being hit by another vehicle. This scene was quite abrupt, Otousan was shocked. lmao Then it cuts to news broadcasts on this serial killer who kidnaps men, women and children and tortures them. I know what you're think 'it's like Saw huh?' Well, there are some similarities between these films, but not really. This guy just tortures for no reason, Jigsaw gives people a chance to redeem themselves by placing them in devices, puzzles by the decisions they make.

This chick Elena(who is a mix of Natalie Portman and Anne Hathaway) is chilling, while chatting with her boyfriend. Then she gets a call from a friend who invites her to a rave with her and a male friend. They arrive at the place and have to say a phrase 'Nevermore(by Edgar Allan Poe for those who didn't know)' to get inside. Once they're entering, there's this loud music playing. lol Elena stumbles upon her boyfriend making out with another chick and he shrugs it off like it's nothing. She punches him in the face and walks off.

So here's where the fun begins, she goes into a room to discover a mysterious red and black chest. There's a sound as if something is inside and she goes over to open it. A man comes out and tells her to duck. See what had happen, was that her opening the chest, it activated a spinning rake like machine that will began mowing everyone in the rave. The scene was awesome! lol I haven't seen anything like that in a long time, that's what I told Otousan. It reminded me of Wishmaster. People got wasted, literally. LMAO

Yep, so it's a blood fest  There's even a crushing scene before the Collector, a man dressed in a BDSM mask and all black. He kidnaps Elena and Arkin(the guy from the chest) escapes. He's in the hospital and the police comes in. A special team is assembled to go and get Elena back. And of course, two of them are Black(one being a Hispanic male). The reason I put so much emphasis on their race, is that... You know damn well Blacks don't survive in horror movies!!( ̄っ ̄)

Someone asked an interesting question in the forums: if they're a special team, why weren't they able to pick a lock? I never thought about it until now. LMAO They showed their amateur behinds when all of them died. When they entered the building, it turned into House of the Dead in this b*tch! o_0 Drugged out people attacking like zombies. Also when Elena escaped from her chest and into another room, the blond chick from her chest, reminded me of Cyndi Lauper. My dad concurred. LOL She just had that 80s appeal to her! OK but the Collector had quite a collection. His hideout was basically like a museum of his tortured victims. The visuals were quite interesting, in a deranged way...

Anyway, I won't tell the entire movie, you guys will have to check it out for yourselves! If you're like blood fest movies with booby traps all over the place, you may like this film! I'll have to make time to watch the original film so I can get a better understanding of this. I only watched it because I hadn't seen a horror movie(or a movie period) in weeks. There isn't much memorable about this film, other than the deaths. There's no background on most of the characters, I think they were just expendable, as stated in the above paragraph. Like one blogger stated, at least Jason(revenge on anyone in his path), Freddy(revenge on the descendants of the people who had him killed) and The Candyman(kill anyone who summoned him or said his name) had motivation for why they killed their victims. This guy, not so much is explained... I'm like you wanna go night night, n*gga? lol I guess you should watch the first one. Enjoy the films, folks~
