Cantu Shea Butter For Natural Hair Conditioning Co-wash

I'm on a roll baby!!! xD

Name of Product: Cantu Shea Butter For Natural Hair Conditioning Co-wash
My Rating: ★★★☆☆

I have been browsing through the natural hair section of Crapmart(you all know as Walmart). Most of it is expensive, just as the ones being sold at independently owned natural hair stores. I kept seeing this product above but kept putting off buying it, even though new products intrigue me a lot... So I finally picked it up last week and otousan purchased it for me. I enjoyed using the previous Cantu product: Cantu Grow Strong Treatment, that I thought I'd try this. Cantu has an entire line at Crapmart.

I washed it in my hair today(October 26th), despite it freezing, luckily, I was alright. Upon using this product, there was something familiar about it. I'm not sure if other naturals have noticed it, but I have... It smells exactly like As I Am Coconut Co Wash. As I was cleansing my scalp, it did feel like I was using the same product. It doesn't feel much different from it either, except for it being cheaper. As directed, you have to wash your hair with warm water, then apply this product. After getting the excessive build up out of your hair, wash with cool water. It is cold as hell here, can you guys imagine me wanting to crap my pants as I was washing this out??? :[

Other than that, it worked well with my hair. It was soft and easy to detangle. Well, since I have been taking better care of my hair and avoiding certain products, I don't shed as much hair as I used to. You guys probably can't tell from my recent photo, that my hair has gotten LONGER. I have it up in a pony tail. lol That's why I said in my last post that my hair is touching my neck for the first time in five years... I just have to deal with frizz and dryness a lot though... -__-

I'd read someone that one natural wasn't able to detangle her hair while using it, I don't know why but it works fine for me... After using it, I applied Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioner Repair Cream to my hair, just as directed on the tube. lol Again, another thing I didn't like, was the fact that it didn't have a covering on it, just like the As I Am Cowash and Dark N Lovely Au Naturale Curl Defining Creme Glaze. I guess they want the consumer to smell it but I worry about nasty folks putting something in it. I don't know, that's just me...
Anyway, this is all for my review. Try this product out, if you want something that's a bit cheaper than As I Am. I mean, if you choose AIA, go for it. I'm just saying that there are similarities and cheaper alternatives. Never spend over thirty bucks on a product without proper research! From now and on, I'm going for the cheap items and buy the expensive ones online through ScAmazon. Until next time, ganbatte!
