PSA- Ni-hao minna-san~ I know it seems as if I've abandoned my blog for my WordPress one, need not fear! Just because I rarely update here, doesn't mean that I am not active here. I am here every single day, checking stats, browsing posts and etc., for misspellings and technical errors. I've paid money for this blog, so I have not abandoned it. I'm just saving up for the opportunity to move this blog to Wordpress and make it half public and half private. Since I am no longer open about my personal life, which also includes distancing myself from people I know online as many have taken some sort of deranged pleasure out of my suffering going on at home. I won't put all of my thoughts on them on here, because a lot of them think I'm naive and stupid to not see them clicking on this blog. I have FIVE trackers on here, so you do the math...

Alright, on with the review... Do not click on this link if you have not watched the film yet!!

After watching this movie last night 7/19, I must say that I am very impressed by it! I won't write no long winded review. I just felt like updating my blog, and I miss writing reviews!! When I saw the trailer to this, as someone who has been watching horror movies all of her life and is used to the recent ten years of horror being about CRAP, that was instantly what I thought of, when I saw it. I'm glad that I gave this film a chance, as I try to do with a lot of recent horror flicks. I like how the cover of this is like a throwback to the 80s, as well as certain scenes throughout the film. Which is funny, considering I was just watching The Town That Dreaded Sundown, which also did a clashing with the present and circa 70s. The beginning is straight to the point, we see a young girl bolting out of her house in complete terror and staring at something which isn't scene by any of us. She's asked by the neighbor if she's alright or needs help, she declines as she knows there isn't anything anyone can do for her. She startles and starts running again, back into her yard being confronted by her father, who asks her if she's alright and runs into the house. She storms out with a small purse and gets into a car. In the next scene, she's crouched down in front of her car on a beach, crying. Her phone rings and she tells her father on the phone that she loves him. She looks toward the car. And the following day, she's found with her leg broken toward her face and her other leg with the lower calf torn off. I can assume with this scene that IT was in the car and it ran her over. There's really no explanation on who or what did it until later in the film with the protagonist named Jay. She goes on a date with a guy, has a one night stand with him until he uses chloroform on her. She awakens to find herself bound to wheel chair in an abandoned, broken down building. The guy who she slept with, goes by the name Hugh, is walking around with a flashlight as if he's anticipating an arrival of someone... Or something. I found this main scene to be exceptionally creepy with him pacing around, the angle of the camera the entire time she's in the wheel chair, ITs arrival and being oblivious to Hugh. I'm glad that one reviewer caught on to once Greg became infected, he was like it's been three days and nothing will happen. Well, it would take three days for IT to get to him and it did...

I like how with this film, it keeps you guessing. What is IT? Where did IT come from? Why does IT follow? I've been reading a lot on the IMDB website concerning this film and I like a lot of the commenters' theories on what IT is. Some were saying that it is similar to A Nightmare on Elm Street where there's hardly any adults or parents around, the quiet suburban neighborhood and how its teens fighting the supernatural. Lets also add in how you can only see Freddy when he's out of the dream realm or you can see the victims being attacked by him. The writer of the film got the idea from a nightmare of his. Some were comparing it to Halloween based on the old houses and such. Someone brought up an interesting fact that this movie has borrowed heavily from Japanese horror. If you are not a big J-horror junky like I am, then you won't understand. I see some of Ringu〖The Ring〗, Ju-on〖The Grudge〗, Chakushin ari〖One Missed Call〗, Kairo〖Pulse〗, The Unidentified and etc. There are more, but I just can't think of any at the moment. I plan to publish my Asian Horror page real soon so you guys can catch up and check out the varieties of Asian horror films throughout these past ten years!

I'll say that the movie was creepy, not scary. It also has a moral to the story that every person you sleep with they have a piece of your soul and don't be so quick to sleep with a random person. That was my interpretation of this film. It left everyone's bad decision with death, paranoia and fear. Like an STD, you're practically stuck with one until it keeps up with you and eventually kills you. I enjoyed it and how it left you guessing and wanting more. I wonder if they will make a sequel. If they do, I hope they don't ruin it. My own disappointment with this film, is that I wanted to see more death. IT is unstoppable, nothing hurts it, it doesn't feel pity, remorse or anything. IT only had the look of pain in its eyes... BTW am I the only one who noticed that some of these creatures remind them of Attack on Titan? Please tell me I'm not the only one who noticed this!!!(。◕∀◕。)

Anyways, this is my review. I hope you guys have enjoyed it! Make sure you all comment! If not... IT FOLLOWS...✌
