Bleached Hair Damage Journey

Konnichiwa minna-san! I am presenting to you all my damaged bleached hair journey. In this post, I will present products that specialize in restoring damaged hair back to health. There will be photos of myself while doing the treatments and etc. I hope this all helps you! Keep in mind, this may only be relevant to those Black females with 4B/C hair textures.

I've decided to go shopping for some more products for my bleach damaged hair. Here's what I've picked up. I know I said I wouldn't return to Sally but had to. Trust me, as soon as I build up more funds online, I won't be shopping there ever again unless it's to renew my card.

From Crapmart: Creme of Nature Argan Oil Intensive Treatment, Africa's Best Herbal Oil(Can't live without this shit!), 2pk Sof n free Grow Healthy Milk & Protein Olive Oil Really Deep Conditioning Treatment, and Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Intensely Smooth Leave-In Conditioner
The reason why I said that Africa's Best Herbal Oil is something I can't live without, well, it's true. I remember years ago, when I tried to go natural, I got this oil. My hair was sooo long! It was still permed during that time, but it was really long. Considering the fact that I come from a Black family with self hate issues, my parents made me get a perm. That beautician permed my hair so strong that I was damn near BALD! I had no idea how damaged my hair was until, you've guessed it, going natural. The sides of my head is thinning and it won't grow. The right side of my head is at least trying to grow, but it's really slow and not catching up with the center and front of my hair. There are times where I am embarrassed to wear my hair in a ponytail, exposing those bald spots. I am not sure what it will take to make those areas grow, but I am not giving up. And unfortunately for my beautician, she went out of business since I've stopped going. I'm not even interested in going to a natural hair salon as I feel like I never want a Black woman to touch my hair ever again.

From Craply Beauty Supply >_> : Beyond The Zone Split Mender: Aphogee Keratin 2-Minute Reconstructor, Ion Repair Solutions Effective Care Deep Daily Conditioner Treatment, Ion Moisture Solutions Extreme Cleansing Conditioner

I kind of feel that this was too much stuff but it's the only way to keep me from returning. I'll get my other products from Target at another location or online.
Day ❶ 4/5/16 So today, I decided to wash my hair with a mystery product shampoo and serum from a survey company. I shampooed first, then I used the Creme of Nature. This stuff is really thick and difficult to squeeze out. I've had to shake the bottle after removing the cap to it... I've had to put this in my hair and sit out in the sun for fifteen minutes to let this stuff penetrate my hair. Not a problem, grabbed my phone and sat in my mother's car... Then I used the serum. After that, I put the Beyond The Zone Split End Mender into my hair. I like this stuff a lot and I've never used this brand before... I was able to comb through my hair without problems, with the exception of the damaged hair coming out in chunks. Looking at the photo, you're probably wondering how in the world, do I still have hair after this? None of the nappy parts of my hair came out, just the dead ends. I was happy to hear the crunch in my hair while I was combing from scalp to end. You know the crunch I am talking about, the 4c type crunch. lol As you can see in the second photo, the curl pattern is slightly returning but I still have work to do... Oh yeah, I also added ORS Olive Oil Incredibly Rich Oil Moisturizing Hair Lotion to my hair. It's another bottle of stuff that I have to either shake vigorously or open it to get it out. I swear this stuff smells just like soap. If you don't believe me, open it up and find out for yourself. I only bought it months ago because I've never used it before.

Day ❷ 4/6/16 I've added Mystic Divine Argan & Monoi Oils Nourishing Leave-In Conditioner to my hair. I got this stuff last year when I needed to renew my card at Craply's. It's light and doesn't leave my hair greasy like other leave-ins.
Day ③ 4/7/16 This evening, I've decided to apply BB Maximum Strength Oil Moisturizer Hair Lotion with Castor Oil & Aloe to my hair. This didn't really do much for my hair and it was dry within seconds of applying it. Basically my hair ate it. lol So I used an alternative, which is African Pride Olive Miracle Anti Breakage Formula Leave-In Conditioner. Because of how dry my hair was, I plopped a hand full of this product in my hair. I hadn't used it in years and finally decided to use it again. It's for extreme dry hair, and while I was using it years ago, it didn't do anything for my hair, which is why it was sitting on the floor all of these years. It's almost gone so I decided to add it since it's for extra dry hair. This stuff made my hair damp and that stringy straight hair emerged... I see more curl pattern in my hair though. I haven't seen this product in stores in years. I wonder if it's discontinued... I just checked my box and see that I have the Hair Lotion by this brand which I've purchased months ago. I am interested in the Shea Butter version of this.

Day ④ 4/8/16 This evening, I've applied Blue Magic Organics Super Sure Gro to my edges and crease in my hair. Then I've applied my herbal oil mix. It still has that strong lavender scent! My Afro is starting to show, but for how long? I plan to cowash my hair in the next couple of days.

Day ⑤ 4/9/16 This evening, I've applied Softee Castor Oil to my scalp and around the edges. Then, I've applied Softee Coconut Oil to my hair. What I've noticed about my hair, is that the right side of my hair is really soft and beginning to gain it's curl pattern back. However, with my left side, it's really hard and stiff, and still kind of straight. I know that I have a long way to go, since I plan on not cutting my hair. My oil concoction from yesterday really left my neck and back greasy! Ugh!

Day ⑥ 4/10/16 Today, I washed my hair with a mystery shampoo(meaning I got it from a survey company and I have NO clue what brand it is, other than it's an anti-dandruff shampoo) and Head & Shoulders Moisture Care Co-Wash. Before I used the cowash, I hot oiled my hair with Africa's Best Herbal Oil. I warmed it in a bottle with water in a cup but I was such a busy body, it wasn't hot enough so I applied it to my hair anyway. Then I placed a cap on my head and used my powerful BaByliss Pro Nano Titanium travel sized hair dryer for ten minutes. Then I cowashed. My hair was extremely moisturized but still as stringy as ever! When I was done, I've applied my OGX Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Weightless Healing Dry Oil to my hair with the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Intensely Smooth Leave-In Conditioner. After I took my bath, I've applied Softee Indian Hemp to my hair and scalp. My hair is soft, yet some parts are stringy and it's still shedding. I may have to look into getting some hair vitamins; something I should have gotten in the first place. I will not waste anymore money on hair products that claims it's for hair regrowth. I think these nasty Centrum vitamin gummies and organic drinks are the reason why my hair line has grown back!
Day ❼ 4/11/16 Today, I've pretty much have done the same as I've done yesterday with adding the Softee Indian Hemp and Garnier leave-in to my hair. The afro-ness to it is starting to show but I am still keeping an eye out on it. The front of my hair is still not really responding to my products. I will continue with adding these two products until tomorrow.

Day ❽ 4/12/16 Just basically a three times a charm with the same products from yesterday and the day before. Tomorrow, I will add something else to my hair journey regiment. I am happy to see that my hair thinning in the front is growing back. I can't wait to try my Garnier Blends shampoo/conditioner! It's for damaged hair and it has this rare honey blend in it. Can't wait to try it out! Next week, I have to try Herbal Essence Hello Hydration next week.

Day ❾ 4/13/16 Today, I've applied my Softsheen Carson Optimum Amla Legend Damage Antidote Oil Moisturizer to my hair. I am almost out of it, just like with the BB Oil Moisturizer. I am just trying to get rid of all of this stuff. I have so many products that I am going through all of it. My hair is like really soft... lol

Day ❿ 4/14/16 This evening after taking a bath, I was exhausted and sweated out my hair. I've applied Motions Oil Moisturizer Hair Lotion to my hair.

Day ⓫ 4/15/16 Tonight, I've moisturized my hair with Lusti Naturals Argan Oil Hair Moisturizer Triple Strength. Got this from garbage ass Dollar Tree due to not having any money to buy my usual products... I am a bit iffy about this product as it claims to be "Argan Oil," but the so called Argan is the ninth ingredient on the composition list. Oh well, I will use it til it's gone. It made my hair watery like so I've added EVOO(extra virgin olive oil). I can't wait to try this Aphogee to my hair and hope that it saves it.

Day ⓬ 4/16/16 Tonight, I've applied Softee Growth Treatment Mango to my hair. I don't particularly care for the scent of this product, but like yesterday, I am trying to get rid of all of this stuff! lol I must say that I am very impressed by how my hair is responding to these hair greases. If my hair was normal, it would have made my hair hard.

Day ⑬ 4/23/16  Wow! I know that I have not written anything in a while but I had been waiting on washing my hair again so I can start all over again. So today, I washed my hair with Generic Value Products Conditioning Shampoo compare to Clairol Shimmer Lights Original Conditioning Shampoo. Now I did this because it looked like my color was fading and needed to refresh it. After I've done this, I've washed my hair with my new sample from BzzAgent entitled Herbal Essence Hello Hydration shampoo. Once I've done that, I've applied ApHogee Intensive Two Minute Keratin Reconstructor to my hair and left it on for five minutes. After washing it out, I've noticed that my hair still looked the same so I've conditioned it with Herbal Essence Hello Hydration Conditioner. With desperation, I've applied Sofn'free GroHealthy Milk Protein & Olive Oil Really Deep Conditioning Treatment to my hair and scalp. Left it on for full forty-five minutes. You guys probably think I'm nuts. lol I don't recommend this but I am desperate to get my hair back to where it was. So anyway, after towel drying it off, I've applied Luster's Pink Oil Moisturizer Hair Lotion, Ojon Rare Blend Oil Total Hair Therapy【I highly recommend this】, and Beyond The Zone Split Mender. I really love this Beyond the Zone product! It smells so damn good!

If you are wondering why this image is up here. Well, I purchased this last week out of desperation with the hair on the sides of my head not growing. I am tired of seeing those bald spots and decide to do something about it. I've purchased it from eBay and it arrived April 21st. I will be using this for the next three months. Hopefully, I will get some new growth from this product, although I hate the side effects of it. I hope my hair is strong enough to surpass the side effects.
Day ⑭ 4/24/16 Today, I've only applied Eden Body Works Peppermint Milk to my hair. My hair has been dry ever since my deep conditioning and reconstructing.

Day ⑮ 4/25/16 I've applied ORS Olive Oil Hair Lotion to my hair. I am also still applying that Pantene Hair Regrowth Treatment to my hair. So far, it looks like it's working.

Day ⑯ 4/28/16 Tonight, I've taken my hair down after having it in a pony tail since I've washed it. I've applied Bee Lovely Moisturizing Daily Conditioner to my hair. I really love this product ever since I've purchased it three years from this natural store. I've learned a week ago that it went out of business. I guess I'll have to find it online. :[

4/30/16 As you can see the back area is starting to kink up a bit and there's a lot of new grow.

Day ⑰ 4/30/16 Today, I've washed my hair with my mystery shampoo. Then I washed my hair with Dove Advanced Hair Series Quench Absolute Ultra Nourishing Conditioner. Then I've applied
Ion Repair Solutions Effective Care Deep Daily Conditioner Treatment. After that, I've applied Dove Advanced Hair Series Quench Absolute Intense Restoration Mask. This wasn't enough for me, so I added Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Conditioner to my hair. Once I was finished with that, I've finished off with Dove Advanced Hair Series Supreme Creme Serum, Ojon Rare Oil Blend Total Hair Therapy and something else I can't remember(I'm sorry, sometimes I forget things but I think these two was all I added). :/ And of course, still doing the Pantene thing.

Day ⑱  5/1/16 I've only applied Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen, Grow & Restore Edge Treatment. Plus the Pantene regrowth.

Day ⑲ 5/5/16 This evening, I've finished off my Soft Sheen Carson Optimum Amla Legend Damage Antidote Oil Moisturizer. Since my hair was still dry, I've applied African Pride Olive Miracle Moisturizer Lotion to my hair. I don't know why my hair is too dry, then again maybe I over proteined my hair. lol Still doing the Pantene stuff. lol

Day ⑳ 5/7/16 This evening, I've applied the same ole Pantene stuff to my hair. I've also applied Africa's Best Herbal Oil to my hair. Then I've applied Lusti's Naturals Argan Oil Hair Moisturizer Triple Strength. Again, just using this product because it was cheap. In order for my hair to feel soft from it, I've had to apply a lot of it to it. It's very thick but also a bit watery. As I've said before, it just does nothing for my hair.

Day ㉑ 5/9/16 Still doing the Pantene thing. I've applied ORS Olive Oil Hair Lotion to my hair. It really made my hair soft and touchable. I just hate that how difficult it is to get it out of the bottle!

Day ㉒ 5/11/16 I've applied Eden Bodywork Peppermint Tea Tree Milk. Since my hair was still dry, I've applied Motions Oil Moisturizer Hair Lotion. Then the Patene treatment.

Day ㉓ 5/12/16 Today, I've washed my hair with Garnier Whole Blends Repairing Shampoo Honey Treasures Shampoo. I love the lather in this product. Then I've applied ApHogee Intensive Two Minute Keratin Reconstructor to my hair. After that, I've applied Garnier Whole Blends Repairing Conditioner Honey Treasures. Once I've done that, I've applied Sofn'free GroHealthy Milk Protein & Olive Oil Really Deep Conditioning Treatment to my hair. It seems that the strength of it has died. It was tingling in the back but not in the front. So after washing that off, I've applied
Beyond The Zone Split End Mender into my hair, along with
OGX Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Weightless Healing Dry Oil, Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic Curl Stimulator and this new product I've picked up: Dr. Miracle Follicle Healer. I love this stuff! Got my scalp all tingly! I will only use this product after every wash as I feel it probably won't tingle as much if I use it daily. I will probably use it daily after I am done with the Pantene regrowth product.

I've decided to stop updating this entry and publish it. It seems like nothing is working for my hair so I've decided that at the end of the year, if there is no improvement, I will chop off the damaged ends. So far, Pantene has been helping me with growing and thickening my hair. I am just amazed by this. I'm sad that this new look failed for me but I really thought my hair was strong enough to be bleached. Oh well, lesson learned, will return to wearing wigs from now and on. ✌
