Bonjour a-tous~ Here's another Asian business review! I was in the area so I thought I'd swing on by! Here's what I have to say about it!
I heard about this place years ago, again from the weirdo blerd I was working with at my other job. I finally decided to check it out since I was in the area!
It's called the Oriental Market! It's actually KOREAN owned which shocked me! As soon as I walked in, the owner spoke. I was like what the hell??? Sorry, not used to them speaking. lol But yeah, this place is quite small but at least I can see the aisles. I grabbed some more of those Meiji in strawberry flavor and continued to look around. I didn't experience being followed or watched. She had the same things here that the Asian Supermarket had; Asian foods, drinks and snacks.
Then I approached her and she asks me if I wanted to check out. I said yes. I decided to spark up a chat with her. I learned she's from South Korea and she asked me if I was from around here. I said nope, I told her I was looking for a job around this city. She mentions a grocery store and tells me to look online. She reminded me of that Korean lady who works at the Korean restaurant in my city. Koreans are different, a lot more friendlier than the other Asians which is new to me. I've always preferred Chinese and Japanese but Koreans from personal experience have always been friendlier towards me. But it all depends on the person. There's a Korean owned business where I live and you guys remember this photo I took with one of them. lol
She gave me and my Mom freebies but Mom did return to give them business.
I did tell her(Oriental Market owner) I will return. I saw an Asian lady in the parking lot who was parked awfully close to my car but at least she was nice enough to let me get to my car. lol
Would I recommend? Absolutely! Good customer service is the key! Letting customers walk in and you not acknowledging them is bad customer service! I'm looking at you, Asian Supermarket!
I had to keep this short and sweet but you guys should check it out! She needs to restock but she's super nice! From reviews, she has stuff for Korean dishes but I am not too familiar with their food. That's my next trip, trying out Korean restaurants.
